ROASTED MAPLE and BALSAMIC PEARS

Baked maple syrup pears with yogurt on top

Baked Maple Pears

Serves 8

Ingredients

​

  • 4 almost-ripe pears

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1-2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syr

 

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. 

  • Cut pears in half, then using a teaspoon, core out the seeds. 

  • Melt butter in a cast iron pan. Place the pears cut-side down into the hot pan, and sear them for a few minutes until nicely golden.

  • Place the pan into the oven, with the pears still cut-side down. 

  • Roast for 20 minutes, then remove from the oven and flip the pears over.

  • Drizzle balsamic vinegar over the pears, and return the pan to the oven with the pears cut-side up. Roast for another 5 minutes.

  • Remove the pan from the oven and drizzle maple syrup over each pear.

  • Serve with a little bit of plain yogurt.
