About the Recipe
Sugary, roasted grapefruits that are a perfect mix of sweet and tart.

Ingredients
2 large grapefruits
4 tablespoons dark brown sugar
4 tablespoons Madeira wine
little bit of unsalted butter
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Slice grapefruits in half and, using a grapefruit knife, cut around the outside and between each of the membranes to loosen each wedge of fruit. If you want to be especially kind to your guests, pick out the seeds.
Sprinkle a tablespoon of brown sugar over each half, then drizzle a tablespoon of Madeira over that. Dot each half with a little bit of butter.
Place in an oven-proof baking dish (I like using a cast iron pan) and bake for about 30 minutes.
If you want to get fancy (like us!), char the top with a little blow torch. You can sprinkle with some raw sugar first if you'd like, but it's not really necessary.
