SNOWSHOEING

A person snowshoes through a field

Let’s start with the fact that you can snowshoe right outside our door. Just clomp a few steps into 800 acres of woods and meadows and you’ll be smack in the middle of the Mad River Riders trail network, heading into Camels Hump State Forest and on to Dana Hill.

And then there’s the 300 hundred mile long Catamount Trail which cuts through the valley, and numerous other state forests and parks. And, of course, the beauty of snowshoeing is that you can pretty much do it anywhere the spirit moves you, as all of the cross-country ski areas and trails in the valley also have great snowshoeing as do the golf courses.
