ABOUT THE INN
Just on the edge of the lively little town of Waitsfield, Vermont in the Mad River Valley, the Featherbed Inn is a casually luxurious bed and breakfast that sits on 20 acres of land, with the Featherbed Connector providing direct access to miles and miles of maintained mountain biking, snowshoeing, hiking, and back country skiing trails a few steps from the front door.

The inn welcomes you with two living rooms, one with a large fieldstone fireplace, a dining room, an 1840s barn, and European featherbeds in every room.

Drive eight minutes in either direction, and you’ll find yourself at some of the best skiing in the East – Sugarbush to the south and Mad River Glen to the north. Two cross-country ski areas are right nearby, and opportunities for outdoor adventures abound.
Jump in our swimming pond to cool off on a warm summer afternoon, or walk across the road to a pristine swimming hole in the Mad River. Ride or walk directly from the inn and onto the Featherbed Connector, leading to a vast network of maintained and utterly gorgeous trails. Bring your mountain bike or road bike or motorbike – whichever you choose, it’s going to be a glorious ride. Peep at our autumn leaves as the valley explodes with color. Take an al fresco yoga class, outdoors on our meadow. Delight your taste buds with our gourmet breakfasts, or head out to one of several great restaurants within a mile of the inn.
Take yourself onto our trails for a walk, ski, or snowshoe (we've got spares if you don't have your own snowshoes), and come back to s'mores by the fire pit. Play on our lawns, read your favorite book in our gazebo by the pond, nap in a hammock, rest up in your spacious room, or join your fellow guests for conversation or board games in the living rooms.
