BACKCOUNTRY SKIING

Backcountry Skiing at Mad River Glen

From the back meadows of the Inn, skin up and climb the Revolution Trail through our property to 45+ miles of trails maintained by the Mad River Riders. Connect from there to Camel’s Hump State Forest.  A short drive and you can access the Catamount Trail which is the country’s longest back-country ski trail, spanning the length of Vermont at more than 300 miles long. If you want something serious, the Lincoln Gap section of the Catamount is very steep and can be challenging, even with deep snow.

Or if you are not keen on the uphill, the lift-served Slide Brook Basin at Sugarbush offers 2,000+ acres of back-country.  If you still need more, check out the Mad River Valley Backcountry Coalition.
