Cardamom Fruit Salad

Serves about 4


  • * 1 large ruby red grapefruit

  • * 3 oranges of any variety (better yet, a combination of blood oranges, navel oranges, clementines, etc.)

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 2 tablespoons lime juice

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

  • * OR the approximate equivalent amount of peaches 


  • Prep the fruit by cutting away the peel to expose the pulp rather than the membrane. Cut this up into bite-sized bits.

  • Drain the excess juice from your chopping board (which hopefully has a rim to catch the juices) into a small saucepan. Add lime juice, honey and cardamom.

  • Bring to a boil then lower the heat and simmer for a few minutes.

  • Pour the sauce over the fruit and gently fold so that all of the fruit is coated. Let it stand for several minutes so the fruit can absorb the deliciousness and the sauce can cool.
