Before I get into the meat of this message, I want to let you know that we have a few rooms available over the July 4th weekend. If you've never experienced July 4th in the Mad River Valley, I want to urge you to quickly make some plans to come. The Warren 4th of July parade is like nothing else you've ever seen. Irreverent, edgy, family-friendly, and more fun than any parade I've ever been to. After the parade, there's a huge dance party in the middle of Warren, followed by festivities and fireworks at Sugarbush. Join us!

Customized, Personal Experiences

So here's why I sat down to write this newsletter. I've been thinking a lot about all the connections we've made with people here in the Mad River Valley, people who provide an array of offerings that, we think, can make the difference between a good visit to Vermont and a memorable, outstanding visit. We want your stay here to restore you, or to excite you, or to reinvigorate you. You could, no doubt, get on your phone and weed through the results. But why do that when you've got us? Vermont is a place to connect with nature, to connect with people, to connect with your own quiet inner voice. Put down your phone! We revel in making recommendations, where to hike, what to eat, where to swim, where to hear live music. But we go further than that.

Concierge Services, Human Connections

Let us pamper you! And let us connect you with people and experiences that will make your stay really special and really yours. Officially, this kind of guest engagement is called "concierge service," complete with up-charges, but here at the Featherbed it's just the way we do things, and we will never charge you for that. It brings us a ton of joy and satisfaction to see how just a little bit of extra effort on our part results in bringing joy and satisfaction to our guests.

Wellness:

In-room massage

• Let us arrange some serious pampering for you, right here. You can roll off the massage table and into our Nordic spa for some truly epic relaxation.

Acupuncture

• Is there some part of you that needs healing? Acupuncture might be the treatment you need. We'd be happy to schedule an appointment for you with an extraordinary practitioner.

Sound-centered gong bath

• We stumbled upon gong bathing, thought it sounded weird, tried it anyway, and absolutely loved it. We can sign you up for a gong bath experience or arrange a 1:1 personalized sound-centered coherence session for you.

Japanese Forest Bathing

• This is a beautifully meditative mindfulness experience that will soothe your soul and connect you to nature in ways that will surprise and delight you. No actual bathing is involved here; rather this is your chance to immerse yourself in the forest in a mindful, meditative way. We can register you for a scheduled forest therapy session nearby or arrange for a private guided experience in the woods right behind the Featherbed.

Yoga

• The Mad River Valley has an abundance of yoga classes, and we'd be happy to find just the right one for you and get you signed up.

Facial

• We can book a facial treatment for you with our local skincare expert at Complexions so you can leave glowing on both the outside and the inside.

Outdoor Adventure:

Guided Fly Fishing

• From learning to tie your very first fly to improving your casting to getting you to the very best fishing spots, we can arrange a guided fishing experience that will up your game or just get you started.

Paddling and River Tubing

• Get out on the water. We'll arrange a guided kayak tour or river tubing trip for you, and we know you'll love it.

Mountain Bike Shuttle

• So, you're excited to come to the Mad River Valley to go mountain biking, but not so excited about biking up our steep hills? We can schedule a shuttle to do the hard peddling for you, with pick-ups right here at the Featherbed.

Glider Rides

• Soaring above our lovely valley is an unforgettable experience. Let us schedule a glider ride for you, and you'll have a story you'll want to share over and over again.

Golf

• For a unique and particularly fun golf outing, check out the backyard six-hole golf course at Woodchuck Golf. Let us know if you're interested, and we'll book your tee time.
