It Ain't Over Till It's Over

And the 2023 ski season definitely ain't over. In fact, the best conditions we've had all season began in March and are forecast to continue through the month. In a big way! We're talking nearly two feet of new snow predicted for next week. Check this out: https://opensnow.com/user/favorites/locations/summary

We've been sneaking out of the inn whenever we can over the last few weeks, and (aside from a little too much wind, which happily has now subsided) the skiing has been glorious. True, the laundry has gotten backed up, but we hope you'll forgive us for choosing snow-blanketed mountains over mountains of laundry (we promise that we can provide clean — and luxurious — sheets and towels). We'll catch up on the laundry eventually, and in the meantime we've been living our best life.

So much so that we actually hesitate to let you know how great it is. The busier we are, the less we are able to get outside to play. But whenever we start thinking that way (usually either when we are on the mountain or when we are looking at a mountain of laundry), we remember that YOU are what we love most about running the Featherbed Inn. Sharing our favorite places with our guests, introducing you to the crazy abundance of things to do in the Mad River Valley, hearing your stories about your experiences here, and sitting down with you by the fire....that's why we're here. You've made us the happiest innkeepers in America (as far as we know), so we are letting you in on the not-very-well-kept secret that March can be the best time to ski in Vermont.

March brings more daylight, warmer temperatures, and smaller crowds...and you could be among them. We're fully booked this weekend, but we've got rooms available through the rest of the month. There's lots going on at both Sugarbush and Mad River Glen and throughout the Mad River Valley. The skiing should be epic, but if that's not your thing perhaps a dog sled adventure is, or painting and sipping, or snowshoeing in our woods, or cross-country skiing, or simply reading by the fire and soaking in our hot tub. Whatever your thing is, we'd love to have you here to celebrate these last few weeks of the winter season.

Happy March! From your adoring innkeepers,

Karen and Mick
